Dixie

Diagnosed at 44

I have a wonderful relationship with my LORD and Savior Jesus Christ. It’s much greater than before. I am an artist and my artwork comes so much easier and people are amazed at my gift. They tell me that my paintings are getting better all the time. I just finished illustrating a 50 page book that my friend wrote and we are trying to publish it. I play Tennis with a backboard, golf and basketball in my front yard AND I DANCE EVERY CHANCE I GET like everybody IS watching. I am married (33 years) to my college sweetheart. I have two fine handsome sons married to my sweet beautiful daughters (-in- law). I have two grandsons and a grand – daughter on the way. I am 53 years young and I have Parkinson’s. I was diagnosed at 44 years of age. It is still unbelievable. But I have chosen to be happy and to live in the moment. I don’t like sad. I am forever the optimist and I don’t plan on giving up. Yes, I can get very down but if there is anyway to surround yourself with happy people, DO IT. I can ALWAYS think of something worse like losing a child…I’ll take Parkinson’s over that any day. There’s one thing we all have all the time and we each have the same amount of it at any given time and that is the MOMENT that you live in no more, no less! The past few minutes are gone and the future second isn’t here yet. We all have exactly the same amount of time. Live it with a smile on your face and Jesus in your heart. He’s got this any way. He already has the plan for our destiny.
