Caregiver for 10 year(s)
My husband started out 10 years ago with a slight tremor and we were sent to a neurologist to “rule out Parkinsons”; he did all the mundane tests and said no Parkinson’s evident. Those tremors had continued through the years to worsen and I started doing my own research. We went back to this same doctor, who offered medication, when my husband said I really don’t want more medication, this doctor discharged him. Our primary care asked us to go to another and she is wonderful. My husband had a test that absolutely diagnosed Parkinson’s disease versus essential tremors, prevalent left side. So, we are finally on the right road, dealing with a physician who is not a pill pusher, and, YES, it is difficult but I found I have to be as informed as possible to be able to help my husband live the best life he can.
