Diagnosed at 79
My mother is 94 years old. She was diagnosed with Parkinson’s when she was 78 years old. She is currently taking Stalevo 100 mg every 2 1/2 hours and sinemet in between as needed. She does have times when she can’t get out up out of a chair. She uses a walker but sometimes walks away and forgets to bring her walker with her.
She is fiercely independent. She refuses to live with any of her children. She goes to activities when she is up to it. She is forgetful, but does very well for her age.
She is not able to write legibly and that bothers her because she used to send notes and cards and is unable to do that anymore.
We are so blessed to still have her with us.
